The City of Loretto is located on the western edge of Hennepin County, just 15 minutes west of the 494 loop. Loretto is a quarter-mile square with a population of about 652. We have beautiful parks, including the Arnold Klaers Baseball field and four fun playground parks for families. Loretto also has a vibrant downtown with great restaurants to enjoy. SPRING ROAD RESTRICTIONS UPDATE - APRIL 21, 2025 Road restrictions are lifted on all city streets WITH THE EXCEPTION OF LORETTO STREET AND RAILWAY STREET EAST. Loretto Street and Railway Street East are posted at a maximum of 4-ton per axle weight limit. The following vehicles are exempt: Milk trucks, farm feed vehicles, school buses, recycling and garbage trucks. Overweight vehicle permits allowing up to 6-ton per axle weight limit may be granted on a case-by-case basis. Any person not holding a valid permit, who violates a posted load restriction, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to the penalty established by MN Statute 609.02 as amended, together with a civil penalty payable directly to the City, equal to the value of the damages caused by such violation.
