Loretto offers both residential recycling and organics recycling. Both services are covered by the Residential Recycling fee of $6.93/month. Details for organics recycling can be found in the next subsection.
The City of Loretto contracts with Republic Services for a Single Sort Recycling Program. All recyclable items (NOT including organics) are placed in your Single Sort rolling cart - no separation is necessary.
If you need a larger cart, or even a second cart, contact City Hall to schedule delivery. There is no extra charge for this service.
DO NOT PLACE YOUR RECYCLABLE ITEMS IN PLASTIC BAGS. Plastic bags are not allowed in your cart, either in groups or used to contain your items. Plastic bags cause damage to the automated systems at the recycling facilities. Many retail stores such as Target, Walmart, Cub Foods, and Coburn's have plastic bag collection bins at the entrance to their stores that you can use to recycle your plastic bags.
See the RECYCLING GUIDE below for a guide to recycling.
Residential recycling is collected bi-weekly (see the RECYCLING CALENDAR below for all the collection dates.) The standard recycling cart is a 65-gallon rolling cart, but you may request a smaller or larger cart if you'd prefer. Recycling carts should be placed curb-side by 6:00 a.m. on collection days.
