Data Practices Information

The Minnesota Government Data Practices Act (MGDPA) is a group of laws that govern how cities (and all government entities) manage government data.  Government data is defined as "all data collected, created, received, maintained, or disseminated" by a government entity "regardless of physical form, storage media, or conditions of use."  The MGDPA attempts to balance the public's right to know, the individual's right to privacy, and the government's need to function responsibly and efficiently.

The City of Loretto has adopted the policies below in accordance with the Data Practices Act.  The forms needed to make a data request are included in the policy themselves.
