Loretto

In 2024, Hennepin County will be making improvements to County Road 19 between Main Street in Maple Plain and HWY 55. In cooperation with the county, Loretto will be replacing water mains as well as improving sidewalk access near Railway Street East around the railroad crossing. In addition to this work there will be a complete rehabilitation of the railroad crossing planned by the railroad in 2024 which will include a crossing closure. More details will be provided when they are available.

Local access to Loretto businesses will be maintained throughout construction.

JULY 22ND WATER SHUTDOWN

The city will be shutting down the water system to make repairs to the water main on Monday, July 22nd. Residents and businesses will have no water from about 8am to 6pm. This shutdown will affect the entire city.

Following water disruptions, residents and businesses may experience a discoloration of the water during the first use after the water is turned back on. This is due to mineral deposits that have settled out of the water over time. This water is safe to drink, but we recommend that you run an outside faucet until discoloration is gone. This will prevent the mineral deposits from being run through water heaters, washing machines or faucet filters which may result in the clogging of those items. Thank you for your patience as we make these necessary repairs.

July 8th: road and watermain construction through Loretto is anticipated to start and last about 8 weeks (weather permitting.) During this period, there will be no through traffic from Lorenz Street to Elsen Street (hard closure.)

Starting July 8th:

• access to Loretto's business district on the west side of CR 19 will be by Lorenz Street.
• access to the Church of Sts Peter and Paul and businesses on the east side of CR 19 will be by Chippewa Road to Sunnyridge Lane/Hillview Lane/Loretto Street.
