General InformationThe City of Loretto administers city, state and federal elections for its residents on even years. The odd year school district elections are administered by each school district. City staff are available to answer your questions about polling places, voter registration, absentee voting, and other election information. For city run elections (even years) Loretto residents vote at City Hall, located at 279 North Medina Street, in the Council Chambers. For odd year school district elections, check with the Delano School District for all voting information. If you voted in the last election and haven't moved or changed your name, you should be pre-registered to vote in this year's elections. It's easy to check if you're registered - go to the Secretary of State's website, scroll down and click on "Check my registration". The best source of election information for voters is found on the Minnesota Secretary of State's website. Here you will find information about how to REGISTER TO VOTE, FINDING YOUR POLLING PLACE or CAUCUS LOCATION, ELECTION DATES, and ABSENTEE VOTING. There is a wealth of information and it is a very user-friendly website.

2024 ELECTION INFORMATION State General Election Election Day is Tuesday, November 5th, 2024. The polls will be open from 7am - 8pm.
EARLY VOTING SEPTEMBER 20 - NOVEMBER 4 Any eligible voter can vote early using the Absentee system. Absentee ballots are available starting Friday, September 20th. WHERE: Loretto City Hall, 279 Medina Street North, Suite 260/Council Chambers. WHEN: Regular office hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 8am-4pm and Friday 8am-2pm. Extended office hours: Saturday, October 26th, 9am-3pm. Tuesday, October 29th, 8am-7pm. Saturday, November 2nd, 9am-3pm. Sunday, November 3rd, 9am-3pm Monday, November 4th, 8am-5pm. The in-person DIRECT BALLOTING period begins Friday, October 18th. This is the time when voters feed their ballot directly into the ballot counting machine instead of using the envelope system. Voters are still required to fill out an absentee ballot application before receiving their ballot. The deadline to pre-register for the State Primary Election is Tuesday, October 15th, 2024.
