With organics waste accounting for up to 50 percent of household trash, the Green Bag Organics system takes household recycling to the next level.
GBO recycling services are covered by the recycling fee that all residents pay through their utility bill each month. If you're interested in participating, contact City Hall to sign up: 763-479-4305 or mschneider@ci.loretto.mn.us.
Once you're signed up, Republic will provide the following:
- sixty 13-gallon Green Bag Organics compostable can liners per year (a $72 yearly value)
- a coupon for a complimentary bag of Green Bag Premium Compost to new subscribers (a $4 value)
- weekly pick-up of organics as described below
On trash day, make sure to hand tie the Green Bag Organics can liner containing your household's organics waste and place it inside your regular refuse cart. Republic will separate all the Green Bag Organics from other trash at their facility, and off they'll go to a composting company.
Residents may sign up for the Green Bag Organics program at any time, just call City Hall to sign up or ask questions. We welcome your call.
